I took my Emmaus Walk in October 2007, on FSE Walk #25, and sat at the table of Mary. I’m a native of Virginia, but our family moved here in 1980. I retired in August 2013, after 40 years as a teacher.

My husband, Lloyd, followed me into retirement in February. We are enjoying having more free time. I am also very involved as the coordinator for the Cold Night Shelter at our church, FUMC Port Orange, and the mission at Derbyshire Place.

I made my walk in March of 2012, Sunrise Emmaus walk 41, where I sat at the table of Sarah. I worship and serve at the First United Methodist Church of Port Orange. I am new to the board this year and I look forward to serving.

I grew up as an Army Brat and then a Navy Wife. I have lived in a lot of different places, including to locations overseas. I moved to this area in 1976 and have lived here longer that anywhere else. I have retired from teaching, with 25 years at Sugar Mill Elementary in Port Orange. I have 1 daughter. I am a nature/animal lover. I have three rescued Chihuahuas and three horses.

My Emmaus experience truly changed my life. I am very excited t be a part of this amazing experience.

I took my walk on FSE Walk #41 and I sat at the table of Barnabus. My weekend was the beginning of a journey I could only imagine. God has led me to love his people and to grow in his love for me.

I look forward to this part of the journey as a member of FSE Board of Directors. I will be asking for lots of help along the way. And know I can count on each and every one of you. Thank you for the opportunity to serve!

Immediate Past Community Lay Director

I am pleased to be on the Sonrise Emmaus Board and especially honored to be your Community Lay Director for 2015. I made my walk in 1997 at Florida Crown Emmaus Walk #20 (Jacksonville FL) where I sat at the table of Naomi.

I have two adult daughters, Jeany Watkins and Corey Banks, who both attended Chrysalis, and 5 sweet grandchildren. I work full time and when I’m not working I read, make stained glass, and play with my grand kids. I live in Palm Coast with my daughter Corey and two grandsons, and worship and serve at First Baptist Church of Palm Coast.

I am looking forward to an awesome year, with God in control.

I took my original walk on FSE #34, where I sat at the table of Paul, and I worship & serve at Covenant United Methodist in Port Orange. Since then, my involvement with the community has grown, helping out behind the scenes on walks, and then serving as an assistant table leader for walk 44, and table leader on walk 46. I’m married to Patricia, and we have four adult children that are all out on their own.

I play bass guitar on the praise team at church, and I’ve been playing music in bands for more than 30 years. I recently started playing the guitar. I build websites and do graphic design in my professional life, and I also write and draw my own comic books.

I’m excited to have the opportunity to use my spiritual gifts to serve on the board and contribute to the community that has been so inspirational and meaningful in my walk with Christ.
